FIRST POSITION, THEN PROVISION

In this story, we see that a large crowd had followed Jesus but that due to the time and the location at which they were in, the disciples thought that it would be best for Jesus to send them away. The TWO reasons for this were that FIRST, the place they were in was a deserted place; a place of no hope and an isolated place, and that SECOND it was getting late; which speaks of the time.
